Our Vidya Mandir is an important part of Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan. It is organised by Sarvhitkari Shiksha Samiti Punjab. Our this school has been founded on 9th April 1981 in Model Town with 35 students. This school has been constructed with the help of senior citizens of Hoshiarpur and hardworking members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1981.
At present 800 students (from Nursery to +2 class)are taking education from this school .35 teachers are teaching there and ten other workers are giving their services to this school. Our school is full of modern facilities and teaching techniques. We all are working hard for the all-around development of children. At present our school is up to +2 class which has all major streams as Medical, Non Medical, Commerce and Arts. Result of board exams are always very good of our school.
This school was started with the inspiration of Shri Ram Pyaraji worked very hard to start the school. He was a man with simple personality. Shri Ram Pyaraji used to do all the activities of school by themselves even cleanliness. To meet the students and their parents he used to travel on bicycle at far away places. He wanted to inculcate the spirit of Patriotism in every student so that the students should be completely devoted towards the country.
The area of school is 9 acre and was given on 99 year’s lease.
Our school has been affiliated on 01.04.1987 from Punjab School Education Board.
Smt. Kiran Nakkra was appointed as the first principal of the school .She was a lady who worked very hard to run the school.
After that Sh. Ram Pyaraji took the charge as principal of the school and worked very hard to take the school at new heights. He was fully aware with the family conditions of every student. He advised every member of the management to get his child admitted to this school. He was fully dedicated to the school because of his this attitude even his family members got annoyed with him but he continued to work harder and harder for the school. He served as the principal of the school for near about one year from 1983 – 84.
Shri Satinder Kumar also served as the principal of the school for about six months. After that Sh. Ravi ji was appointed as principal of this school. He shifted the school from Model Town to Banjar Bagh as this land was given by Gaushala for the school. As this area was outside the town so bringing here construction material was very difficult.
Shri Ravi ji brought cement bags on their bicycle and helped in bringing the construction material also. School reached new Heights under his guidance Ravi Gyan Shri Moti Lal Ji got their children admitted to the school school building also had to face floods sometimes .But they never lose their will power. He set an example for others by getting their children admitted here .The land over here was sandy .So walking at such a place was quite difficult task but students never give up their courage and participated in construction work of school .Principal of the school answered every query of the child .Then after Shree Bhupenderji took the charge of school as the principal. He worked very hard to bring the school up. He never gave his back for any work. Even in the absence of school bus driver he himself drove the bus to bring the students to school. He used to check the classes regularly by sitting in any random class and observing the way of teaching of the teacher. He was always keen to get students involved in various school activities. School reached new heights under his guidance and earned a great name and fame. Students came from far away villages to study here .
Smt. Lalita ji worked as a teacher since 1981 to 1997 and later she was appointed as the principal of the school. She served as principal for longest period .She even remembered the name of every single child. She communicated with parents of every child. She had a strong command in Punjabi. She had strong control on every activity of school and in the absence of any teacher she herself used to take their classes. Reading newspaper was their hobby .After the retirement of Lalita ji.
Smt. Shelly Sharma is given the charge of school principal. Her efforts established school as an esteemed Institute .Due to her efforts school got the affiliation of senior secondary. .Arts, Medical and non-medical are the main streams in the school. School also has physics chemistry and Biology Labs. School annual function is being celebrated every year. Students started participating in sports activities with great excitement .Conference room is also constructed. Principle and staff coordination is good. She works for teachers welfare. Increment is increased which gave the staff great motivation to work hard. Atal tinkering lab is also brought to our school. School got great name and fame under the guidance of Smt. Shelly Sharma ji .After the retirement of Smt. Shelly Sharma ji.
Sh. Arun Punj Ji is given the change of school principal.
